Clarification on amnesty for illegal residency

Buy ticket, pack-up and leave….
These are the words that might be lingering in the mind of those who are illegally staying here in Kuwait, following the implementation of the amnesty scheme which started on May 1, 2007 and will end on June 30, 2007.

The amnesty program will allow the Kuwait’s residence law violator to leave the country free of penalty charge. All they will do is buy a ticket, pack-up and go which I believe will make airline agent and booking office busy for this month and the following month.

If you happened to know someone who is illegally staying here in Kuwait please let them know of this amnesty program and advise them to contact Philippine Embassy in Kuwait for further assistance.

This is a great opportunity for our kababayan who holds expired resident permit or visit visa so that they legalize their stay, or leave the country without paying the daily overstay charge.

In relation to this amnesty program, Director General of General Immigration Department Brigadier Abdullah Al-Ruwaih has released a clarification about the Kuwait’s amnesty program published at Arabtimesonline to avoid any confusion that may arise and to expedite the exit process.

Share this information to the kababayan who illegally stays in Kuwait, let them know this amnesty scheme they can leave without paying the penalty or a chance to legalize their illegal stay without too much apprehension. They are more safe in Philippines, because I believe those pinoys who stays here illegally are those who are most likely becoming a victim of verbal and physical abuse, harassment and other crimes.
