Facebook Phishing Warning

Facebook is one of the popular social network sites these days. Its’ soaring popularity had put them to become one the hottest target in the eyes of hackers and phishers.  While new members are joining the site to meet new friends online and expand their online networks, some people are considering this site to take advantage on the big pool of facebook membership by planting false link at facebook wall.  The link will then redirect the person to fraudulent site that would steal the personal information of the curious users who clicked the link and innocently provided their password.   A very clear example of Phishing. 

Scott Fish had reported a phishing attempt posted on the wall of facebook users that might appear like below message.

“lol i cant believe these pics got posted….its going to be BADDDD when her boyfriend sees these- http://www.facebook.com.profile.php.id.371233.cn”

Without deep checking you might not notice that the link - http://www.facebook.com.profile.php.id.371233.cn is a FAKE facebook profile link that was created intentionally to trick the user.  With this link planted that long enough, your account or your friend’s facebook might have been hacked. 

So please be vigilant and warn the facebook friends of yours to keep an eye of this fraudulent trick.
