Visit visa runs only twice in a row - UAE
Jenalyn an OFW based in Dubai sent me a report about the new visit visa rule in Dubai and she asked if I want to share this info to our Kabayan by posting here in OFW LIFE blog.
Well, Jeng the answer is of course YES!.. and I thank you for sharing this article
Here is the report published last 4/30/2007 (sent by: Jenalyn, Dubai)
________________
A visitor to the UAE will only be allowed to make two visa runs at a stretch after which he/she must leave the country, Ministry of Interior officials said.
A visitor can stay for two months and extend it by another month.
If the visitor wishes to stay longer, he/she will have to obtain a new visit visa, exit the country and return.
The two-month stay again can be extended by a month. The visitor will then only be allowed another visa run. The total duration of stay will be nine months.
A ministry official said after the two runs, the person must leave the country for a full month and then return if he/she wishes.
In another decision, companies will not be allowed to sponsor Filipinas under the age of 25. (by:By Bassma Al Jandaly)
UPDATE:
A report has been released recently clarifying the confusion about how many times a person in Dubai can apply for a visit visa. Colonel Obeid Mehayer bin Suroor, Deputy Director of DNRD said there was no limit on the number of times a person can apply for, and renew, a visit visa, as long as this complies with the UAE’s laws as reported in Khaleej Times
Moreover, Philippine Consul-General Antonio S. Curameng personally inquire Brigadier Mohammad Ahmad Al Marri, DNRD Director to shed up some light on the said visit visa rule and the director confirmed that there is no such policy limiting visit visa holders from entering the country. As long as a tourist is 18-years-old and above, and has a valid UAE visit visa, he or she can enter the country any time.. more information about subject can be seen here.
