After the Beijing Olympics held this year with a splendid arrangement, another sporting event is coming up in the Chinese capital city of Beijing. The 2008 China Open, which was initially called the Beijing Salem Open, is the international tennis tournament held in China since its inception in 1993, the year when ATP introduced two other Asian Tennis Championships titled as the Qatar Open and the Dubai Tennis Championships. The tournament was held yearly until 1998, when it got removed from the tour calendar. It restarted in 2004 and the following year it was also included in the WTA tour.
