Two teams with something to prove and a chance to get their seasons even or just started gear up this weekend when The Houston Texans visit the Jacksonville Jaguars in Jacksonville. The Texans bring their 0-2 record in hopes of getting a win and Jacksonville seeks a chance to even their season at 2-2. Either way, one time will be getting a much needed lift.

Although the Jags have the a win in the win column, it did not come easy as last week kicker Josh Scobee gave his team its first win of the season with four seconds left with a 51-yard field goal. Scobee, 7-for-8 on field goals with two from 50-plus yards, was given the game ball — an honor that could easily have gone to Taylor or Jones-Drew. Taylor had 121 yards on 26 carries, while Jones-Drew ran 19 times for 107 yards and a touchdown.
So in many ways, the Jags are in the same boat as the Texans and are looking for redemption.
The Houston Texans, on the other hand, have struggled as a team and have given up an average of 34.5 points and 168.5 rushing yards in its first two games. Houston has also allowed 343 total yards in a 31-12 loss to Tennessee last Sunday. The offense shoulders just as much of the blame for the Texans plight. The Texans converted three of 15 third-down plays and were held to 12 points despite getting inside the Tennessee 14-yard line six times. Matt Schaub was 17-for-37 with three interceptions, and coach Gary Kubiak wasn’t happy with a couple of dropped touchdown passes early in the game.
So what does each time have to do to have the upper hand? For the Jags, they must continue to find ways to be successful with the run, score touchdowns in the red zone and for Garrard to find his wide receivers more consistently. For the Texans, clean up the passing game, run first because if the Texans continue to run well, it will take pressure off Schaub and finally, load up and stop the run.
The Jacksonville Jaguars should have a slight edge over the Houston Texans at home, but any big play could sway the game either way.
